NEW INFORMATION: Three including officer, injured in high speed chase: PENSACOLA, Fla. -- An officer and two people were taken to the hospital last night after a high speed police chase ended in a crash.
The incident all started just before 8 p.m. when an officer spotted a stolen Jeep Cherokee on Palafox Street.
It's not how the woman who lives at her home wanted to start off her year, a police vehicle lodged in her home.
An officer driving the cruiser crashed into Gloria Kyle's home just as she was getting ready for bed.
Police had reason to believe the jeep was involved in recent burglaries. So officers began following the the stolen vehicle to 7th Avenue and Blount Street. That's when the cruiser collided with another vehicle then hit Kyle's home.
The jeep crashed just a few feet away into a fence. The driver of the jeep and at least one other person got out of the SUV and ran.
One officer and two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
"Nothing ever happened like this before so I was surprised," said home owner Gloria Kyle. "At first I thought it was a big tree that fell, so I looked up but then I looked over and everything was lit up. Flashing lights, police cars."
Ms. Kyle says arraignments have already been made to fix the damage.
