Day 1 Chiswick to South West Rocks Phew, getting out of Sydney was painful, thought rush hour(s) would be over by 9am but no it wasn't. Managed to remember to pack most most things, only forgot the things in the fridge, at least it wasn't important stuff (red wine doesn't go in the fridge). Sophia the Super Campervan was fabulous as usual and even got to 110 kph at one stage, most of the time we just cruised along listening to a playlist of drive music and watching the scenery. My dashboard ornament flower waves its petals in time to the music. There are long sections of new highway since I was up this way last, it might be safer but it gets very boring on divided lane highway. Stopped at a few rest sites along the way and at one I watched a large goanna terrorising a tourist, sadly I wasn't quick enough with my camera to capture the action. Very funny though listening to the shrieks of fear as the goanna tried to get a free lunch. Tonight I'm staying at a caravan park at South West Rocks and it is a wild and windy night, if it gets any worse I will have to lower Sophia's pop top or it will end up out to sea. This is a dog friendly park and my neighbours have a demented cocker spaniel who has decided his territory includes my van space, nasty yappy little thing. The owners are smiling indulgently at him and I'm just able to keep from shouting at him to shut up. Ahh I love life on the road!
