Back to Berlin! — Berlin, Germany

Berlin, Germany

Doug and I woke up this morning and immediately realized we had missed meeting up with Melissa and David back at the tents the previous night, so before we had breakfast in the executive lounge, Doug wrote them on Facebook to see how the rest of their night had gone. After a nice breakfast and plenty of great coffee, we headed back to the room to shower and pack up our packs before checking out and catching the tram back to the main station at Munich HBF.

Doug was headed towards a camp ground set up for his next two nights of Oktoberfest while I was catching the train back to Berlin, so we said goodbye and then I bought my ticket and another cup of coffee. The next train journey back to Berlin left Munich at 12:45, and with four connecting stops and five trains later, i would arrive in Berlin by 9 pm...

After spending the whole day switching trains, platforms and seats, I got to the main station without too much trouble and caught the U-bahn towards Oranienburger Strase, where I had made another reservation at the Heart of Gold. This was the hostel I had stayed at earlier when I was in the city, though this time I booked into a 50 bed dorm- yep 50 beds! It was split up though into a few rooms with 12-16 beds, and after I grabbed a quick bite to eat, i called it an aery night and was asleep in my top bunk by midnight.
